Brookfield, Wis.-based GSF Mortgage Corp. recently welcomed the addition of a new branch that will focus solely on reverse mortgages. The GSF Reverse Mortgage Team will operate out of York, Pa., where the division will be led by Branch Manager Brad Bennett.
Bennett, whose career includes positions in marketing, as well as a loan originator assistant and sales representative, helped form a reverse mortgage company where he managed a team of nine loan officers and 12 telemarketers.
Joining Bennett’s loan origination team are Ed Meere and Steve Blackwell. Meere joins the team with 13 years of industry experience, including time spent as a former stockbroker; whereas Blackwell is new to the industry.
Edla Bennett, Henry Stewart III and Chris Miller also join GSF’s reverse mortgage division in the roles of office manager, marketing manager and processor, respectively.
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Brad Bennett and his team to GSF to build our reverse mortgage division,” said GSF Regional Manager Frank Papaleo. “Brad brings many years of reverse mortgage experience and will be expanding his existing group in the York, Pennsylvania area.”
Established in 1995, GSF Mortgage is a direct mortgage lender whose professionals originate, process, underwrite and fund all loans. The addition of a focused reverse mortgage division is a relatively new endeavor for the company. While a small number of GSF branches dabble in reverse, none of them have originated reverse mortgages exclusively.
Placing a high value on ethics and integrity, the newly formed reverse mortgage division aims to educate borrowers on how they can use a reverse mortgage as a tool for retirement. They plan to create a larger footprint for GSF Mortgage in the area and position the company as a “serious competitor” within the reverse mortgage industry.
“With their passion, drive and vision, there is no doubt of the unlimited success and growth coming from this team this year,” Papaleo said.
