Bob Yeary, “The General,” Retires From RMS, Reverse Mortgages

Bob Yeary, known to many of his friends as “The General,” has announced his retirement from Reverse Mortgage Solutions, Inc. He is a co-founder of the company and has most recently served as Chairman and CEO.

Since the sale of RMS to Walter Investment Management Corp. (NYSE:WAC) on November 1, 2012, Yeary has served to as special advisor to the CEO as well as chairman emeritus of the top-10 reverse mortgage lender and servicer. 

“Since the sale of the company, I have been planning on retiring when the time was right,” Yeary said. “The Walter Management team has shown their commitment to the reverse space and I believe that RMS will continue to be a major force in the reverse marketplace.”

In the meantime, Yeary has been active in the establishment and funding of the Nancy Yeary Women’s Cancer Research Foundation (NancyCancer.com) and serves as Chairman of the foundation.

Additionally he has established The National Nancy Yeary Ovarian Cancer Data Base which will aid research doctors in finding cures for the disease. His late wife (Nancy) died of ovarian cancer in 2010.

When asked about the future, Yeary said he may still have a few ideas in the works for the coming months and years.

“I don’t play golf,” Yeary said. “I will work on the Foundation…and I have a couple of ideas for new business which I am exploring.”
