Urban Hires Former Generation Exec to Run Wholesale and Retail

Top-5 reverse mortgage lender Urban Financial today announced it has hired Sherry Apanay, former Generation executive vice president to run its retail and wholesale sales channels.

Additionally, the company announced it has hired former EquiPoint Financial acting president, Kristen Sieffert, to oversee project management of its call centers.

“At Urban, we’re intent on growing loan origination and continually improving processes across theorganization,” said Steven McClellan, Urban’s newly-appointed CEO. “Sherry is an accomplished sales executive who led the development of professional standards as the industry expanded and matured. Kristen is experienced, insightful and possesses a strong command of sales and operational issues. I look forward to the contributions each will make as members of the Urban team.”

In their new roles, Apanay will lead Urban’s wholesale and retail channels and Sieffert will be responsible for directing project management across the company as well as coordination of Urban’s retail call center operations.

Prior to her role at Generation, Apanay served at Financial Freedom and Unity Mortgage Corp.

Sieffert, who most recently worked as acting president for San Diego-based EquiPoint, has previous experience in managing operations for One Reverse Mortgage and served in a previous role for Financial Freedom.

RMD reported in December that EquiPoint’s loan officers were seeking new positions with the understanding the company was closing its doors. The company had not identified an acquirer as of press time.
