Reverse 123 Launches Media Campaign

image New Beacon Financial rolled out a new media campaign with television commercial production agency Creative Bube Tube to draw attention to Reverse 123.

The company recently opened its reverse mortgage division and plans to bring a new marketing and business philosophy to the Florida reverse mortgage market by implementing an extensive training program for all its brokers says New Beacon Financial.

“We want to give our clients all the tools they need to make an informed decision on their own”, says owner Thomas M. Simpson. “The easiest way to do this was to get our product out there through the power of television advertising. Creative Bube Tube was key to getting our name out to potential clients.”

While the commercial doesn’t feature any big stars like Robert Wagner or Peter Graves, it’s good see a new company entering the business and promoting the benefits of reverse mortgages.

However, I’d guess HUD wouldn’t approve of a reverse mortgage commercial which says there are “no repayment obligations” (see picture above).  You can watch the video at the link below.

  • Whether HUD has a problem with this ad or not, it flies in the face of what this industry is trying to become. From the first time this entity was brought up on this website it was clear that this group did not understand the product. Mr. Peter Bell needs to step up to the plate and openly rebuke these ads. If the message was simply displayed on mailers that would be one thing but who knows how many viewers see and have seen this blatant nonsense.

If the FTC, HUD, and NRMLA do not openly and swiftly hammer these guys, it is time to rethink ethics. It seems this firm can malign its peers and make false and misleading ads with total immunity. Who are these guys?

Management needs to step up to the plate and admit how truly ignorant they are about HECMs and stop these ads. This ad is the product of arrogance. Their first comments showed they knew little about HECMs and this ad proves it.

  • Poor thought out wording perhaps, but the more Companies that engage in Large Multi-Media Campaigns and help get the (correctly worded) Word about Reverses out there, and more everybody in the Industry continues to benefit from Good exposure. These Companies sure won't get all the business, but they will generate spin-off interest in Reverses that creates business for other positioned in the industry.
Let's not take our eye of the ball.

  • Critic,

I see more commercials, ads and mail out campaigns that boarder the edge of switch and bait as well as misleading.

I don't know if these companies are ignorant about HECM's or they know the product only to well. This is why we are seeing misleading marketing occurring and increasing in our industry.

For the most part I agree with what the Critic has said, it was presented very well. However, if the FTC, HUD and NRMLA does not start a watch dog campaign and start clamping down on these companies, it will continually be out of hand. who is the blame, I say it is us. The people in our industry who care and are concerned about what is happening need to wage a campaign of our own against HUD and NRMLA as well as the FTC. We need to let them know, enough is enough, do your job's.

These agencies and organizations need to start being the policing agencies for us. We as individuals need to complain when we see these adds and advertisements. In short, we must stop talking about it and start doing something about it.

    Regards to all,
