Peter Graves Concerned Seniors Not Receiving Right Message About Reverse Mortgages

February 3rd, 2010  |  by John Yedinak Published in News, Reverse Mortgage  |  11 Comments

image Former Mission Impossible Actor Peter Graves is concerned seniors are not receiving the right message about reverse mortgages.

Prior to signing up as the spokesperson for American Advisors Group, Graves admits he knew very little about reverse mortgages.  Like many others, he misunderstood the benefits and features of the product and encourages other American seniors to do their research and find out more.

“Of course, I’m a senior myself and I know how many thousands of seniors are out there struggling and looking for answers. I am all for reverse mortgages and what we’re trying to do is important to me,” said Graves. “I wouldn’t put my name and reputation behind anything I didn’t believe in.”

In addition, Graves is concerned that one or two negative stories regarding reverse mortgages will turn seniors away who could really benefit from this kind of financial product. “I want seniors to understand that this is a Government regulated and insured financial tool that may really help. The best way to know if you’re talking to the right people is to call an established, respected reverse mortgage company.”

Having spokepeople like Mr. Graves is a real benefit to the industry.

    Yup.

He says that He knew little about Rev Mortgages when he agreed to endorse them and then says He wouldn.t endorse something He didn't beleive in !!!

  • DaveGrady

He's just following the party line and still has no clue what Reverses are about and how many seniors will walk away 15 Feb. due to the cost of paying for appraisals at the door (some mental midget's idea of how to kill the program).

  • lancejackson

Lewis – He said he new little prior to signing up, not when he signed up. He obviously educated himself prior to accepting the role.

    Dave,

I have been a successful reverse mortgage loan officer for the past five years. I have alway
collected appraisal deposits from my clients at application, and my business continues to thrive. Feb 15th will not make clients walk away. It will, however, weed out some weak talent and leave stronger loan officers to survive.
