Not only do we learn by our own errors but also by the errors of others.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;In California it is rumored that some HECM lenders are still relying on the IRS position that real estate licensees can be treated as independent contractors for employment tax purposes when working for a California DRE licensed entity.  So they treat all such employees as independent contractors for all purposes.  This results in some real competitive disadvantages.</description>
