<description>Someone told me tonight that condo owners do NOT qualify for reverse mortgages in California. I live in and own a condo in a 4 unit building in San Diego and my father was a Real Estate Broker for 40 years and told me that I could do a reverse Mortgage when I turned 62 and I would be ok. I am divorced and have a disability. I hope to collect Social Security at 65. This really scared me as I have depended on this as a safety valve. I will not have any retirement but have paid my condo down to $83,000 and it is probably worth $700,000 at the beach. Could you give me accurate information whether I will qualify as a condo owner. I have owned my condo for 15 years.
Thanks
